Our Fairfield Duplex is a property we purchased in 2014. It is a legal non-conforming duplex that we bought with the intention of holding as a rental property. We lived in this house for a few years and were able to renovate both units, starting with the top, between other projects. When we bought the house, it was in rough condition. Renovations to add two additional bedrooms to the top unit were done in the 1960s, but other than that, not a lot had been done other than minimal maintenance. We got the house with red shag carpet and all! The project included a complete reconfiguration, by gutting, relocating and re-doing pretty much everything. We even added an attic room! We loved living in this bright, quiet, private, 1700sq unit, with 3 bedrooms, 1 (large) bathroom, open concept kitchen and living room, plus the attic.
